On Thursday, UFC Fighter Nate Diaz spoke out to fans via his Twitter account and declared he will not be competing at UFC 244 in New York City on Nov. 2 against foe Jorge Masvidal after allegedly testing positive for elevated levels of a banned substance.
In the photo posted on his Twitter account, @NateDiaz209, the fighter denies the rumor saying he only uses, “Whole Food and natural food supplements”. He also mentions that until the UFC fixes the situation and clears up the claims, he will not taint his legacy by fighting under the presumption that he is a “cheater”.
The tweet is as follows:
“I’m not gonna make it out to NYC for fight week next week becausee they say I tested with elevated levels that they say might be from some tainted supplements. I call false on that cause I only take Whole Food or natural food supplements. I don’t even eat meat. So until UFC, USADA or whoever is FUCKING with me fixes it, I won’t be competing. I’m not gonna play their game and try to hide it or keep quite, as they suggested. I’m not going to have my name tainted as a cheater like these other motherfuckers who keep quite until after the fight just so that they can get paid. Fucking cheaters. I don’t give a fuck about some money over my dignity and legacy. I’m not playing along with that bullshit. I’m not staying quite and figuring it out after the fight. That’s cheating. So fight game I’ll see you when I see you. Sincerely, the realest baddest motherfucker in the game.”

The fight between Diaz and Masvidal was expected to be a candidate for UFC’s “Fight of the Year”, and if canceled will surely be a huge financial loss for the promotion. Thus far, the UFC has yet to release an official statement regarding the matter.
